This proposal seeks to reallocate the $40 billion in annual self-storage revenue ($300 million in Utah alone) to middle-class Utahns by allow people with unused space in their homes or apartments to rent their RV pads, basements, sheds, closets, attics, etc. to others in need of self-storage. This would reduce storage costs for some Utahns, while providing income for others and could be implemented throughout the state, in both rural and urban areas.
